Pumped Up Kicks

I’ve been a fan of Nike Pegasus shoes for the last couple of years after a long search for the perfect running shoe.  I’ve tried Asics and New Balances and liked them pretty well, but the Nike Pegasus seems to fit my foot just right.  They are lightweight, cushioned and are a neutral running shoe.  However, they do offer enough support for my slightly over pronated gait. I love them!  I just found some new styles of this shoe on nike.com and there is just something about these black ones that I especially like.  They might be a little bit flashy, but I’ve always had white or grey shoes and I think a black pair would be fun!

Attack of the Cute

If you know me, you should know that I’m a sucker for cute little fuzzy animals.  Finding a site that houses a TON of cute little babes?? Awesome.  Ladies and gents, I introduce to you, attack of the cute .  It has so many adorable pictures, but here are a few of my favorites.

On the Road Again…

It seems like I haven’t stayed in Manhattan the entire weekend (except for this past weekend) since mid-May.  While driving to and from a destination can be quite boring, not to mention the price of gas for these expeditions has my bank account dwindling, I would not give up the fun times I’ve had on the weekends with family and friends. This weekend I’m going to Valley Center to spend time with my Mom & Dad before my Dad has surgery in a week and a half.

My bag is all packed and I’m ready to hit the road right after I get off work tomorrow!! I’m hoping to find a good Thai restaurant so I can have my beloved drunken noodles again.  I’d also like to go thrift shopping since my last attempt was a complete bust. Most of all, I just want to spend some quality time with my parents and little Flint!  I hope you all have a lovely weekend as well : )

Tiny Fashionista

This tiny little girl is more stylish than I am. Seriously, look at her expert layering techniques and cute tights and boots?! I’m twenty three years old and I would wear all of her outfits. Who is this girl?!

After spending two relaxing days in Tybee Island, GA, we trekked over to Savannah for two more fun-filled days. Savannah is absolutely gorgeous! So many beauitiful things to see and full of history. Here are a few photos of the weekend

Tybee Island

I’ve returned from my vacay to Savannah/Tybee Island and I had a wonderful time!! We got lots of sun, tried new food, explored new cities and just had an all around great time. Below are some photos from the first half of the trip in Tybee Island, which is Savannah’s beach town.

After the Weekend…

I spent the weekend back in Valley Center because quite frankly, I was becoming smothered by Manhattan. I needed a quick little escape before my big escape (to Savannah) on Thursday. So, I road tripped home!  My weekend retreat was just what I needed to feel back to normal, especially since it had an extra day in it for the holiday.

I got into town around 7:30 Friday night and went for a quick 5k jog followed by a little walk around the ‘hood with my pooch, Flint! Saturday began one of the most dreaded searches of all time–for a swim suit. Turns out my body doesnot like Victorias Secret swim suits. That’s a whole other post though. I found a cute one at Old Navy (not the same cut as the first one I bought and then rejected) and another great one at Target. Success!!

Later, I met up with my favorite new Mama, Lindsay.  We had a great lunch at Panera and were entertained by her sweet little boy, Evan. She introduced me to a yummy drink, Iced Green Tea, and now I think I am hooked! Also, if you don’t have a My Panera card, you should definitely get one. I got a free drink and she got a free pastry. Yes! The rest of the day was spent lounging and hanging out with my parents, followed by their Saturday tradition of going to dinner at Chipotle.  The people working there practically have my parents’ order memorized.

Sunday was SO hot and humid and windy. Typical Kansas. However, I got to enjoy the weather outside with my friends Sandra and Shelby! We caught some rays in Shel’s backyard and were sporadically sprayed by the chilly water stream of the sprinkler. I eventually had to turn it off because it was a shock every. single. time. it. hit. WAY too cold. Later, my parents and I went over to my cousin’s house for his going away party for the Air Force. It was nice to catch up with family and friends. I wrapped up the night back with friends at Shelby’s house playing “Banana Grams” which is a form of Scrabble, while sipping on homemade chai tea lattes.

Today I slept in, watched an episode of Criminal Minds in bed with Mom & Flint, lounged some more, went to Doc Greens with my Mom, ran some errands and then hit the road back to Manhattan! Whew. Now I just need to focus on getting everything ready for my trip–I leave on Thursday morning. Can’t hardly believe it!!
